"the" Delaware - Lackawanna Railway
At The Shop
The main repair and maintenance center for all of GVT rail is the unopposing two-track shop in South Scranton.  Here every day maintenance, light repairs and heavy overhauls are performed by a dedicated and talented mechanical department.  GVT Rail ownes approximately three dozen locomotives and they all, at one time or another, visit the South Scranton facility for various degrees of work.  These photographs from the recent, and distant past give an idea of what the area holds.  However, the South Scranton Yard and Shop are not open for visits by the general public and tresspassing is strictly prohibited in this area.  Let these photos be your tour and look for these engines out in public areas!  All Photographs by Dave Crosby unless otherwise noted.
