Steamtown Equipment Moved from Tobyhanna
On Wednesday June 13, 2001, the first set of Steamtown equipment was moved off the Army base in Tobyhanna PA.  The consist was as follows:
CN 4-6-2 5288, stencilled TVRM
KCS F-Unit, stencilled ECTB
EL Baggage Car, # 489011
EL Baggage Car, # 251
DL&W MU Car, # 3233
DL&W MU Car, # 4333
CNJ Caoch, # 1023
The passenger and baggage cars are expected to be retained by Steamtown as they are of the same series cars that are currently in operation there.  The two locomotives have been aquired by organizations and were delivered to the Canadian Pacific Railway at Taylor, PA.  The F-Unit will move on its own wheels, while the friction-bearing equipped 5288 is slated for movemment south on a flat car.  This is only the first of a series of moves that will see all equipment removed from Army property in the coming months.  These photographs were taken as the Hospital Train arrived at the Steamtown Yard.  For a few photographs of the this equipment and other Tobyhanna equipment, taken last year, click here
